Direct floppy (Gotek) and ZuluSCSI export, so your kits write straight to the media your MPC reads, no extra steps.
Each machine's sample and program format was cracked by hand and confirmed on the actual unit. It just loads.

MPC 60 / 60 II support is in development. Get notified when it drops.
I'm an emcee and producer, and I've always loved working on the legacy MPCs and other hardware samplers. For years I wanted one simple thing: to build MPC programs on my Mac from my own samples and chops, and send them straight to the machine, without the workarounds.
This year, I finally did something about it. For all of us.
I put many months of sweat into BackFlip, reverse-engineering each format by hand and testing on the real units. Every machine, confirmed on real hardware. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do.

BackFlip runs on Intel Macs, and on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later) through Apple's Rosetta 2, which macOS offers to install automatically the first time. macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later is recommended.
Yes. Because BackFlip comes straight from me rather than the Mac App Store, macOS asks you to confirm it is safe. Right-click (or Control-click) the BackFlip icon, choose Open, then click Open again. You only need to do this once.
It depends on your machine. BackFlip exports files ready for both Gotek (floppy emulator) and ZuluSCSI, so your kits load straight onto the hardware. If your MPC already reads standard floppies or SCSI media, those work too.
Up to two of your own machines. Activation happens on first launch and takes a few seconds online. Moving to a new computer? Email holler@relmccoy.com and we will sort it out.
Drop in your WAV samples. BackFlip builds the native program and sample files for your chosen MPC, ready to load. You can also save your pad layouts as BackFlip Project (.bfp) files and reopen them anytime.
That depends on your machine, not on BackFlip. Your MPC's own memory and storage set the real limit, so an older unit with limited RAM (like a stock MPC 2000) can only hold so much sample data at once. BackFlip will happily build big kits, so just keep an eye on your machine's memory when you load a large one.
MPC 3000, 2000, 2000XL, 1000, 2500, 4000, and 5000. MPC 60 and 60 II are coming soon.
